Joshua seemed like a fanatically vicious mass murderer, moving from one tribe to another in lightning speeds, totally eradicating the enemy. Victory was already guaranteed but was such an extent of viciousness needed???

Taking it to a present day context: Christ already has the victory over sin. But is our heart in tune with God? God loathes the sinful nature, He cant stand the sight of sin. Am I as fervent as Joshua in obeying the commands of the Lord? To really put to death my own sinful nature? To submit to God's will? Am I as passionate about my own purity and holiness????

Maybe I need a streak of viciousness... ha ha just kidding...
