Quote: 'It's amazing how we can say happy new year twice in a same month'
Few years back, i would been probably thinking about how to maximise the visits to friends and relatives, just to increase the red packet income. But today, i'm not even budging from my house.
There's nothing anti-social going on here, just that my family is so small. Up to my knowledge, I only have 3 families to visit each CNY. With the recent passing of my grandpa, that's even one less place to visit. The whole fiasco of visiting etc just dies down. Tracing up the family tree... both my paternal grandparents have passed on. The only maternal grandma i have is an orphan so that means i don't have that much distant relatives to visit either. Most of my cousins are all overseas working, happily married, studying. Visiting with no one to talk to isn't exactly my cup of tea too.
So what does all this mean? I've got a few days of resting at home since no shops are open these few days. Prolonged exposure to bnet, extended hours of sleep. hahaha
I wanted to be like the wind. Someone that just comes and goes. Someone who can never be too attached to one place. Someone that affect others, but yet not be caught and held on. Going overseas to study without telling anyone? Yeah that's something i would do and which i already did. But it's hard nowadays when i become more n more attached to err stuff.. haha ok randomnes. shall stop
Anywayz happy chinese new year all!

Books
Been stuck at home recently due to the wisdom tooth op. Picked up a few gd books to read and i must say, i'm enjoying it.
Mere Christianity by C.S Lewis is a what i'm on now. Everyone knows how fabulous a writer C.S Lewis is. He's a christian writer famous for the Chronicles of Narnia.
'Mere Christianity' just sets me thinking with its simple analogies... Despite the title, the book doesn't preach. It just lays down simple facts and arguments about Christianity. That's what i like about the book.
Well... I like books that 1) Set me thinking or 2)Have such a good storyline that i cant put it down. But dont get me wrong. I don't read that often. I wish i could but i don't. I can't sit down 24hrs and just read a book non-stop, no matter how gd the book is. All right back to being a geek.

Morality
When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him.
When a man is getting worse he understands his own badness less and less.
A moderately bad man knows he is not very good: a thoroughly bad man thinks he is all right.
You can understand sleep when you are awake, not while you are sleeping.
You can understand the nature of drunkenness when you are sober, not when you are drunk.
Good people know about both good and evil. Bad people do not know about either.
-C.S Lewis

1,2 kill
Just had my wisdom tooth plucked out this morning. As of now, i'm unable to talk and eat. Can't even open my mouth wide. Pain
The experience was unique, to say the least. To have an assortment of very menacing looking and sounding equipments stuffed into my mouth, yet unable to feel anything. To see all the blood on the dentist's hand, but unable to taste the blood in my mouth.
'Do you wanna keep your teeth?' the dentist asked after plucking it out.
Who in the right mind would?
Now what am i gonna do this whole week. Don't really think i'm up to going out with swollen face and painful jaws. Food on TV looks exceptionally delicious now. Chewing on food is a nice thing to do.
There has to be a simpler way to remove wisdom teeth man.

Ichirin no Hana
It's been a while since i actually sat down and blogged about stuff happening in my life and my own thoughts. Been just posting pictures up the past few times.
What has been happening during the holidays? Officially i'm labelled a bummer coz i'm not working currently but my 'to-do list' is just so damn long i dont even know whether can i finish what i wanna do within this holiday period. e.g take out wisdom tooth, get summer program goin, spend time reading, being alone etc etc
Thankfully, I'm done with NS and I'm enjoying time spent catching up with both old and new friends. Well at least this holidays isnt wasted.
Onto random stuff i heard over the past wk :
'Before marriage, it was ideal. After marriage, it became an ordeal.'
Went for dinner with my sunday school teacher who is also a marriage counsellor at church who told us a whole load of funny marriage jokes and quotes. Laughed my ass off. Come to think of it, that statement is really true. When u put 2 totally different people, who are brought up in different backgrounds, have different personalities, different experiences, different expectations and let them live together for the rest of their lives, it can sometimes really be an ordeal if no effort is put in.
Over the wk, went out wif my ex-classmates in college. Realised we had a really crazy time in JC. Despite the lousy education system and being blacklisted by alot of the department heads, we really had a blast of a time doing crazy stuff in school. My only regret is that i slept too much during lectures and when it was time 2 catch up with school work, it was too late :( All things that happen are part of a plan and purpose i guess. Maybe that's y now i'm in melbourne, doing something different, and having another ball of a time due to my not so excellent A' Level results.
Also had lunch with the Lee sisters over the past wk... Yeah i should keep my sarcastic remarks myself. I'm still working on it. hahaha. Realised that the world is so damn small. Apparently, they're were from the same primary school as me. Both siblings are in the same school. Some families like to send their children into the same schools i guess... to make things easier i think.
My brother was from ACS(I), I'm from Chinese High. He attends the chinese service in church and i attend the english service, ironically. Apparently my father sent us to different schools in order to get the 'best of both worlds'.... whatever that means. Strangely, I dont quarrel much with my brother despite being extremely different.
That's enough verbal diarrhoea for now. The title of the post means 'lonely flower' btw, if anyone wants to know

Providence
I am definitely not a visionary, neither am I prophetic.
but i do know that
I fall, I keep stumbling, I doubt, I cry out, I get disillusioned, I struggle, I complain, I get angry and impatient, I sin. Is that it means to lead by doubt? I am still learning and struggling with brokeness... To yield everything to Him and realise on my own there is NOTHING i can do correct. To know Him more and to follow Him....
I know that only by His more than sufficient grace and love, the weak will say I am strong. That is good enough. I'm human and real. I'm no super-saint...
Is this what u people are looking for?
