Dreams
If I was just a dream, a figment of your imagination, a passing illusion, would you still reach out to me?

X: Blog what blog??
Me: No one said blog. Why? Do you blog?
X: NO. Do i look like a girl to you??
Me: ..... (Insert deadly silence here)
A matter of perspectives i reckon. haha
On to other topic, sometimes the simple things are all that matters. It might seem insignificant to us, but to someone else, it could mean a whole alot. Someone who is always watching might even reward you for that little simple deed you do. In addition, the simple things we faithfully do will prepare us for whatever the future has in store for us.
Seeking, submitting, self-denial, serving, suffering, sacrifice, sharing....

Inspiration
Strengthen and empower me.
I will not let You go until You do that. Give me a double portion of Your spirit.
Test my faith, stretch it. Put me on trial and may i come out stronger and refined.
Give me Your perspective, let me feel your heart.
Teach me surrender it all.
There is no power in whatever I do, but there is power in faith that comes from You.
Help me and teach me. Tell me what to do.

See it in a boy's eyes
The look in his eyes. The one sporting the blue no.10. A figure of controversy, but nevertheless, a talismanic figure in his team. He places the ball properly on the spot. All his movements are calm and collected, there is no trace of fear. Beyond the pools of green, all you can see is determination. All you can see is a winner.
Two nations are in silence. Hearts and lungs stop for that single moment. In one fluid movement, he runs forward and sweeps the ball into the net. With that he silences an entire nation and brings another into a frenzy....
Franceso Totti was never ever gonna miss it in the first place. You can tell it from his eyes.
Thank you, for you have returned life in Australia back to normal. Aussies can continue harping on their last 8 minutes with Japan. But they'll never ever forget their last 5 seconds with the Azzuri. Nevertheless, good job Australia.

Family Affair
Sunday was family day, in a certain way.
Had a good talk with my parents about stuff we seldom talk about. It's nice to hear their personal opinions on certain matters, to say the least.
By chance, I visited on of my cell group member's home. Cosy little family with 2 dogs, mother knitting on the sofa, father watching the TV. I dont know, I guess its just heartwarming (yes i've got a heart) to see a nice family spending time together. Yeah and I was unceremoniously thrashed in foozball... haha not that I play alot of foozball tho.
Maybe studying abroad has made me more appreciative of family. Not only my own, but also the family of others. Whilst being on the border between independence and dependence, the importance of family really means alot to me I guess.
Honour Thy Parents.

Childhood Memories??
I think I have a bad memory. Strangely I can't remember alot of fond and pleasant things/events that happened when I was young. Even if one of my primary school friends came up to me now, chances are i wouldnt remember that person. Heck, i can't even remember the names of ALOT of the people i met in army.
Hmmmmm all i remember about primary school was that i used to play chapteh (is that how u spell it?) alot. That was like the only 'legal' sport in my school. Girls would play that stupid rubber band game. Soccer and basketball during recess periods were not allowed. What the??? yeah I was thinking the same thing too. Stupid school rules that made me deprived. And Primary school was full of mean girls. I remembered one of the girls who asked her father to come to school to scold one of the other guys! That was low... The father like came in between lessons, without any teacher there, he just lashed out at the boy! Poor thing man. Man if i was 6'3 then, i would certainly punk that old dude out.hahaha. I seriously didnt want to talk to that girl after that. No respect man... haha and what would i know about respect at that age?
OH YAR and i was removed from being a prefect at the young age. Talk about being fired at an early age! haha I think i always never showed up for duty or meetings. Unceremoniously dropped. After 9, i NEVER became a prefect/law enforcer anymore... haha and my CCA in primary school was abit erm... mildly surprising? ask me if you want, i aint gonna post that on my blog.haha

Right place, Right Time
I'm just glad that one stressful night, I took a break, climbed down the flight of stairs and took part in the sharing of coffee and biscuits with other people. It may be small, but i really think it means alot.
Comedy of Deafness
I realised another not so good point of being tall. When the handphone rings in the pocket, i cant hear it clearly. Perhaps the distance is too far?? Damn. And the vibration of the phone isnt particularly strong, especially when i'm wearing my layers in winter. oh well.
Mornings are beautiful.
Maybe i havent stopped to look at the sky during the normal school semester, but with the past few mornings , i have been waking up early and yes thankfully i had the opportunity to see the beautiful creation of God. You dont have to go to the beach to look at a particular 'nice looking' sunrise. I think its everywhere, except we dont realise it. We just get too caught up with work and school and totally ignore it in fact.
Yup its just another one of those moments. The little things in life. Call me a die hard _______ or silly but hey.
I think that when we grow older, we become more aware of our own faults and inadequacies. (ok maybe not for all people). People wonder why things arent a certain way, why are they in that current situation of life which they loathe, why they are acting or behaving a certain way. I am guilty of that too.
But rather the more important thing is the response i reckon. A streching of our faith. Do we allow ourselves to be stretched? Do we lose sight of God? Easy to say, hard to practice. That's the bottomline.
'Peace time training is training for war' The S Acting Force used to preach.
In a certain way that's true. If we dont get the peace time/successful/easy times right, there's no way of doing well and succeeding in the tough/hard times. The free and idle times are the most dangerous. The calm is always before the storm. And much to people's unbelief, the easy times are the best to instil discipline and consistency. Be it spiritually or in other aspects of life.
On question i was asked, 'If you can spend so much time on __________, why cant u spend more time on praying for one more person, or spending more time with God.' Room for a lot of improvement.
Enjoy and make full use of your youth.

She
She is like a beauty on the ads u see at the tram stop. The glamour shots and the make up... But when u actually she her in real life, you realise there aint nothing special much about her. In fact you find that she's rather on the ugly side. The hype that people build up is a total let down. On paper she looks like a glamourina, ready to steal the show and light up your evening. But in real life she's far far from being that and can never live up to the expectations.
She is England.
The English Soccer Team to be precise. A squad filled to the brim, no in fact with overflowing talent, but yet always fail to produce the fine and beautiful football that they are definitely capable of.
A force to be reckoned with on paper. When will England ever be firing at full cylinders? I am waiting... and maybe my wait will be in vain.

5214
5214 is now properly stocked up for the latest craze that is going around also known as the World Cup.
No we do not have crazy drunkards with their faces painted here. Neither do we have endless supply of booze here. There is definitely without a doubt, no guy oogling in this place.
In 5214, we appreciate the finer aspects of the beautiful game. The art of soccer, which does not include only the goals, but also the passing, running, the flair and the creativity. To wait for that one magical moment where a man becomes a hero for his country and his name shall resound throughout the country. Where a group of men transcend into immortality.
Over the beer and snacks, we jest at what could most possibly the ugliest footballer in this tournament. Though we havent decided on who it is, but there are a few runaway leaders ahead of the pack in this competition. Of worthy mention is Muntari from Ghana. The no. 11 'goalscoring' celebrations will never be forgotten. Lesson to take note: When u realise that u are celebrating by youself after u thought that you scored a goal, most likely the goal was disallowed. So stop celebrating. haha
Another hot contestant today was the German version of the predator. Asamoah. The face and dreadlocks strikes fear into every defender. Beware.
Why oogle at pretty boys when u can laugh at fatboys and ugly dudes? After all, laughter is the best medicine.

The Queen and I
Long live Queen Isabel.

Stalemate
Woke up, a nice late morning, yup and i'm still alive.
I've got this nagging feeling to get a job, to get some work done. and some people might call me crazy, especially the working people. Like why would i in any right mind, with a wonderful holiday, not rest/play/relax and get a job?
Is it social pressure? because the fact that i'm totally unemployable at such an age? I don't know. Dont get me wrong, i don't really fancy the working life either but there always comes a time when we just have to what we have to do. There definitely is much more to life than this, but there is always a place for mundanity and routine.
On another random topic of wearing masks: I am not, but i know I AM. Perhaps that is the most sufficient answer i can gather and its courtesy from someone back home. Yup its absolutely wonderful to be known as just the Tall Guy aint it? After all that's what i'm known for only. A tag, a label the world gives me. What comes to YOUR mind first when someone mentions Jonathan Chee. I bet it's only one word. haha Its great to be known for that, but if that's only what i'm all about, that's quite a saddening thought...

Scaredy Cat
yeah i'm a scaredy cat....
hey that's new! i can add that to the list.

Pre Emptive
Nope this doesnt mean the start of regular blogging for me.
Even before this weekend comes, I just wanna shout out thanks to people. Yar i know blogging thanks probably isnt the most sincere/meaningful way but hey i'm still in the midst of the exams. Gimme a break. I'll think of something better this weekend.
Yup even before Friday comes and the exams end, just wanna say thanks where its due.
To the one that keeps listening to me whine and groan about my exams, for putting up with the negative emotions/rants that i have been coming up with over this past week, who keeps telling me to hang in there, sleep well, eat well and all the little advice which i didnt seem really appreciative of.
To the couple that so willingly opened up their house and provided me with dinner when i most needed it. The man who let me destress by playing with the Xbox 360. And his wife who whips up the simple home cooked meals which i enjoy. Thanks for treating me like family and making feel at home with the simplicity and the infectious laughter. Although u guys probably wont ever read my blog, but u guys are definitely worth the mention.
To the act cute one. Who keeps telling me 'Don't stress, dont stress...' and always remains so cheerful and optismistic even though we continuously tease u.
To the one who braves the cold to bring food to people like me. whose food i really appreciate and finish so quickly everytime. yeah its gd. Who doesnt forget about people who are still having exams. Who replies the nonsensical emails i send. who proved me oh so wrong. I say An angel with food is always good. hahaha
And to everyone who has in one way or another prayed for me, talked to me over this week. People who simply encouraged me to lift my chin to look up into the sky when all I simply wanted was to look at the ground.
And lastly to Him, the one who put a ring on my finger, who placed the best robes around me, who slaughtered the best calf for me and gave me only what Princes deserved. Even though i didnt deserve it to start with.
Thank you.

Let it Go
Let it go. What does it mean to let it go?
To shut up and not think about it?
I realised that sometimes opportunities will never be given. God says that he has plans for his people. Plans to prosper and not to harm me. Does that mean that the plans will come into fruition by not doing anything at all? Just sitting back and waiting whilst time passes me by mercilessly?
We seek his will by being obedient to God in our actions and thoughts. God has already equipped us with what is needed to make decisions. I still have to make the concious effort to plan for my future, to search for openings, to strive and a reach for my dreams, all in obedience to him of course. Am I not?
Whoever watches the wind will not plant;
whoever looks at the clouds will not reap
And that is the fine line we tread on. To think and not to worry, to plan and not to forget about seeking, to toil but to work together with God.
Some say its a case of just being overconcerned or worrying or thinking too much, but hey i will never live the day down knowing that i didnt live up to my full potential. Knowing that i spent probably what could be my best 2 or 3 years of life in Melbourne and I didnt use it wisely enough to find myself more opportunities for a better future. That'll kill me.
My family knows what's it like to have a lack of opportunity. My mom didnt have a proper education. My dad wasnt granted tertiary education when he was young coz he couldnt speak english. And know what do i have??? A fully paid education overseas. My time here is paid by blood sweat and tears. (Maybe that explains the sombreness).
Opportunities are given to some; thrown in their lap in fact. Sometimes i will just have to fight for mine. Like what the father and mother did. My bro always tells me 'Be careful of the rich kids here in Aus, you're different from them.' (no offense to anyone). And i think i understand why now. God blesses and uses people differently.
Through it all I am still struggling to surrender everything to God. To seek his will and act accordingly. And the actions include planning for the future and doing well to honour His name
Such is life. To strike a fine and perfect balance in our lives with total obedience to God. and it is not easy.
