A sense of humour

It's a wretched body I live in. Sometimes, I wish that my heart and my eyes would be ripped out...

Oscar Wilde once put it, ' If the Gods were to play with us, they would answer all our prayers'. There is a time and place for everything, even answered prayers. Sometimes, a NO is given and trust me, I am still learning to deal with that.

Have you ever fallen in love? The initial sugar rush. The giving of flowers and candy, just wanting to go out with the other person. Talking and spending time with that person, just wanting to know as much as possible about the other party in the short time you are together with him/her.

Somehow (if all goes well. haha) the relationship develops into something more than that. Sometimes you argue and disagree over things and you question each other. Friction occurs and sometimes, you just have to give in to the other party. On certain days, you question whether you really know your loved one at all, to the extent you question whether do you REALLY love him/her.

At the end of the day, you just want to sit down and do nothing with your loved one. Absolutely nothing. Where both people are comfortable with the silence and just simply enjoying each other's company. Even the thought of conversation just fades away because at that point, connection had gone beyond the level of words. It's that very moment you live for and deep down in your heart, you would never ever trade that time spent for anything else in the world....

Isn't it like that sometimes? Especially with God, when all He wants us is to revere Him and be in His presence. To be still and know that He is God. The intimacy of silence...

Lord, grant me a holy heart that sees what is fine and pure and is not frightened at the sight of sin, but creates order wherever it goes. Grant me a heart that knows nothing of boredom, weeping and sighing, let me not be too concerned with the bothersome thing I call 'myself'. Lord, give me a sense of humour, and I will find happiness in life and profit for others.
